29th April 2010
It was the first day of work as a promoter recommended by Tong Kwun under an agency named ET Hub. We (Serene, Maggie and I) left my house at about 840am lest we couldn’t find the place. However, we reached about 20 minutes earlier. The day started by electrocuting four of us (including Tong Kwun) to boredom having to wait in the enormous yellow Hilux car for some procedures to be completed by the employees of ET Hub. And the typical Hilux had roared to life since 930am till 1230pm before our journey to the first location, Taylor College began.

Finally, the wait  had come to an end and just before the smell of excitement to embark on this new job greeted our nostrils, without our knowing, the incense of torment had wafted in the air first. When we first donned on the outfit given which was a snow white one piece dress, complaint, whiner, moan and groan erupted in Taylor College’s toilet.

“We look like a nurse; white dress, white legging and white heels. Urgh!”
“Oh, I should have brought my legging. The dress is so thin that my under garment can be seen.”
“ Such an ugly outfit!”
“Everyone looks as if they are pregnant with this dress.”

And so the grumble continues..

Basically, our job involves us give out samples, tell them about the voucher attached with the sample and try the face moisturizer on their hand. Yucky! That was the least thing I did. Yeah, I was lazy to do so plus I found it very unnecessary and awkward. Met Jason Lim and Elena too. Awkward feeling is undeniable. We got to know Max too, the assistant supervisor of ET Hub. Small enchanting eyes and the dark tanned skin colour he she has are the only few features she has that can portray her as a he. And she has got the flat chest that amazed us at the same time make us curious on how she does it. =P so far, she is the friendliest and still retain the element of childish or maybe those are the soft side of her and also her flaw of becoming a male. We love to joke with her, tease her and make her mad. She is still a very loving, caring and kind hearted person (a typical characteristic of a female) despite all her efforts to show us her masculinity such as carrying large tables. The only point that make us feel she is like a he is when she drive Hilux with great speed and hands off the stereng while fixing her hair. Haha…that cute little fella with dimples on her upper cheeks.

Time seems to pass very slowly when working for ET hub.

The next location we ventured is Celebrity Fitness nestled in Lot 10. An urge to quit this job immediately arose upon reaching the place as there were a lot of muscular men with excess testosterone hormone and not forgetting the homosexuals. The men gazed at us cynically and curiously whereas the women were just too busy to just land a gaze on us. Those cynics just couldn’t stop showing off their torso with their extra small size outfit. Stretching it. When the night approached, we were added with extra duty which was to promote our exchange programme emphasizing on trading the mens’ facial cleanser with a whole new Loreal Men Expert Facial Cleanser. How reasonable.

30th March 2010
Second day of work  kicked off with Serene and Maggie having to wait for the latecomer-me. And the winner goes to Miss Serene for being the earliest to reach Cempaka station. With her hitting the clock at 0810am, Miss Maggie who was not bad either arrived at 0845am and the biggest loser goes too me. I admit having myself chillaxing and lingering at home. >< and so we headed to the mamak store nestled nearby the office to have breakfast since Serene and Maggie had not eaten. This really elevated the guilt. I reckoned that it would be trifle awkward if I were to see them devoured those high calorific scrumptious mee goreng and roti pisang and gulped the sweet-to-the-ultimate milo that no matter one say kurang manis, the sickening concentrated sweet taste will still prevail. So, a plate of nostalgic roti tisu, an Indian delicacy with sugar ubiquitous and  a few 10cent round brownish-yellow dots on the crispy crunchy cone shaped dough was on the table now. A twinge of guilt evoked as I witnessed the making of roti tisu. Thick yellow butter was spread all over the flattened dough and fistful of sugar was dashed swiftly like perpetual snows. And the aftermath, my mouth, chin and fingers appealed an army of ants. Nevertherless, it was fun to finally got to savour the crispy “tissue” which I used to have it for my supper together with a bunch of mischievous siblings and cousins when I was tender.

Ultimately, a once in a while unhealthy sinful breakfast ended not having our stomach filled but red plastic bag hanging obnoxiously in our fingers. @@

Amazingly, after 4 hours in Segi College Damasara, the Indian dough was still bristle and rustle gracefully in my mouth with every chew. Probably the glaring sun had served as natural microwave heating.

p/s : Segi has got an exquisite large cuboid shaped swimming pool! The ultramarine pool with a lofty clock tower standing rigidly at end creates a superb scenic view.

The whole Tuesday hit me with extreme guilt as we had the sinfully tempting pizza in PizzaHut 1Utama for lunch+dinner. I just kept stuffed those palatable cheese rich bread continuously without a halt like a hungry wolf though I was not at all ravenous. Hah! Greed attack I called it. I just love pizza plus we were dining for free. So I did not mind adding some grams cause I didn’t think I will. Haha.. and the working period began at late hour for the first time. We started at about 7pm compared to the usual 5pm. Thanks to the torrential rain, heavy traffic and lazy bosses. Hehe…

31st march 2010
Third day unveiled without Serene and Maggie boisterous laughter, sporadic craps and plays. Nevertheless Li Mi and Sze man were here today to replace the duo. And the typical day proceeded with typical things to be fulfilled. Distributing samples, explaining the usage and trying the contagious white moisturizer gel cream on some sweaty or dry, frigid or warm, bony or fat-thick, fair or charcoal dark, hairy or shave clean hands. That was how I would describe Monash College male students. There were a few flamboyant gentlemen whose features had slight akin to the Korean boys to mentos cool, conceit maybe male student that did not want to take your sample as a mean of courtesy unless you insisted. Too bad I did not encounter Clement. Standing at 183cm, I would have to talk to him as if he is some KL Tower.

Lunch was economy rice which cost me RM3.50 at Subang food court, opposite INTI College that offers variety food and drinks from A to Z typically. From Chinese cuisine to Thai food, Western a la carte to Sarawak mee, Indian spiced chapatti and tosai to Malay food, Dim Sum to rojak, Chinese Tong Sui to ais kacang. Enroute to our next destination, our meadow green Unser driven by Max collided the back of a car while she was trying to reverse the gigantic car. Ooppss..no one saw it we guess. Abruptly, a familiar lean guy clad a red T-shirt emerged, looking quite blur, still trying to interpret what had just occurred. Finally, when he was done, he started taking out his cellphone and dialed someone. We reckoned that was his car. But we acted nonchalantly and whizzed along the road as quick as possible.

Sunway pyramid here we are! I’d never been to this big lion head shopping complex before. Ecstatic I was but I was too sleepy to react. There. Sunway Lagoon. It was drizzling that day and some big walls had blocked the view of the magnificent water splash theme park. Again a monotonous 5 hours in Celebrity Fitness. Our mood were lifted slightly when the guy who was in charge of providing gym addicted affluent customers towers had eventually helped us a lot by asking his younger brother to exchange a total of 6 cleansers with us for a new Loreal Men Expert facial cleanser. The kind dwarf malay guy also presented us a 7 days free trail voucher to every each of us. How benevolent. Also, a pervert approached us in a means to antagonise us. Dangerous maniac.

1st April Fool 2010
A mundane fooling day as no one fooled anyone nor got fooled. We were at USJ for four hours. USJ is a strategic place hawkers, fast food restaurants, kopitiam themed modern cafe, mamak stalls and kiosks as Help University College, Mahsa College and a great number of company are a stone’s throw away from this hub. Swarm of people from all walks of life will create a lively ambience when the clock strike 1pm. Chaotic. And every second we were complaining, whining, moaning and groaning in means to pass the time. How pathetic.

“What’s for luncner (lunch + dinner) ?,” I wondered.

We were in Li Mi’s car to Midvalley. A cute Perodua Kancil car was swift occupied by 3 of us at the back (Serene, Maggie and I) not forgetting big head Pooh and Tong Kwun at the front. Laughter erupted like volcano of all the sudden and lots of unnecessary piercing noise pollution stung everyone’s eardrum. We ate at MV’s food court. For the first time, I was devouring a Korean cuisine. Feeling of deceived evoked as I was actually swallowing maggi mee which was so-called Korean food. Urgh..should have known that ramyun corresponds with Korean instant noodle.

For the first ever time, we were hoping not to head back home early as we were given a mission to accomplish which was hit a total of 35 facial cleanser in our exchange programme. And after all the sweat and tears, we succeeded! Proud of ourselves. Of course we were fighting for this as there was award waiting for us. I don’t consider this award as any big deal as it wasn’t really worth fighting for. Hah. Nevertheless, we were just doing this for the sake of doing. And the award was Lilian is going to treat us a luncner tomorrow. However, we were alarmed when the dreaded Max said, Happy April Fool”. We felt like landing a few blows on him right a way.

MV celebrity fitness has got swimming pool. How fun. I wana jump down there right away! Celebrity Fitness has got the most comfortable classy large toilet which includes a sauna room. Wow. Wonder how is it like.

2nd April 2010

Friday was the most mundane day. University Malaya gave the worst support ever to the four angelic lass. We barely able to prevail in distributing all the samples. Nevertheless, girls power once again proved to all.
We were joined by a mass comm intern named Ah Keat, a quiet, reserved, modest who would just chuckle a little which we reckoned it as sarcastic laugh whenever we made fun of him. We labelled him Ah Cat due to the homophone. Hahaha.

Rows and rows of shops catering for hungry wolves like us flashed in our eyes continuously. A great number of restaurants for us to choose had actually brought some migraine of indecision to us. There were some restaurants that were still vivid in my memory; Ah Xian Dim Sum, OldTown Kopitiam, OldTaste Kopitiam, Sumo, Starbucks, CoffeeBeans. Finally, Lilian spoke. She suggested randomly that we eat here. Kitzhen. Apparently, we were the only customer probably it was due to the weird timing. 4pm.  When it comes to free food, we just ordered what ever we fond. This time, I wasn’t looking at the price but zoomed in to the food that most likely pamper my taste buds.

This was what I makan. Take note of the hairy drink. Haha..

We burped our way to work. This time, the working system had a slight changed. We needed to stop by every each of the shops in every row and give the passerby or employees of a restaurant some samples. The best part was, we got to enter Starbucks, thanks to Ah Cat. The coffee rich smell that concentrated in the air gushed to greet our nostrils once we opened the glass door. With the comfortable cooling air, we were too unwilling to leave this perfect place. Nevertheless, we had to walk out with heavy footsteps.
The sun went back to its home and the vast nocturnal people began to accompany the lonely moon. This is KL. The night never sleeps.

5th April 2010
Hurray! Last day of work and also the first time I got make up on my face. Never in my life my eyelash is that long, curvy, thick and ebony, my cheeks are red yet not a natural blushing, my eyelids are blue, and my lip is glossy like a girl who did not wipe her mouth after savouring a fried chicken, quoted by Maggie.

It was a little bit saddening as the usual frenzy Max was not with us this time but the much hated Lilian and boring stubborn Eric would be with us for whole day long. Lilian drove us to MMU with Max’s white Viva not forgetting all the soft toys especially chicken little at the back of the car. Next, we were at Solaris Walk where all the classy and exquisite restaurant situated.

I had bitter gourd chicken with rice for luncner. It was torturing having to wait as everyone’s order had arrived except me. Ravenous, I ate some red chilies. Till the last bite, my stomach had yet to satisfy. So I ordered a toasted bread. Ahh….the crunchy sound that vibrated my eardrum every time I took a big mouth watering bite can be heard clearly.

A big break out when Serene discovered that she had lots of similarities with Lilian. And so we began to get closer with Lilian like how we slowly bonded with max. That night was a little boring as not many people could be seen lingering around the place.

Surprisingly, I met Natasya, a girl who attended the swimming class together with me when we were Form4. She was working in Haagen Daaz so we grabbed this golden opportunity to get a few scoops on every each of the ice cream without any feel of embarrassment. As we left the shop, Li Mi and I shrieked in excitement as the France imported ice cream had melted our frustrating mood and also pumped adrenaline for us to finish our dreaded job asap and headed back to the heavenly tasty shop for another scoops sheepishly this time. We were on the second floor of the Solaris building when we spotted a restaurant named beautifully and creatively; Schoholart. It is a way the Swedish pronounced chocolate as the manager told us. He also generously treated us some of the famous lovely chocolate and we gave him some samples. A worthy barter system.

Work time was over. And four of us barged into Haagen Daaz again. This time, Serene and Li Mi were there to purchase and me again were there to be melted by the succulent vantage ice cream. It made me feel bad for a second for devouring to much ice cream = ( but not at all after that one second =PP

We found out that Lilian detest taking pictures so we forced her and cunningly took her photo without her knowing. And the snapping continues till my dad arrived Serene’s dwelling. A little sad to say goodbye.

But it was a fun 6days with no regrets.  the killing white stilettos , the snow white dress, the sickening moisturizer odour and the aching body.
